The ooey gooey goodness of this Cheesy Ranch Buffalo Chicken Dip is almost more than I can handle. The delicious aroma coming from the oven is enough to get your mouth watering! I would dip just about anything in this dip, like truly. Now excuse me while I go wipe the drool from my mouth.
This may come as a total shock, but this dip contains absolutely no buffalo meat and buffalo sauce doesn’t either. But, I couldn’t help but do some quick research to figure out where they got the name “buffalo sauce”.
The name dates back to 1964. A family owned establishment had a special sauce they put on their wings. This establishment was know as the Anchor Bar and they were located in Buffalo, New York. The husbands name was Frank… I feel like that’s where Franks Buffalo Sauce came in, but I don’t have solid evidence.

- Canned Chicken
- Cream cheese
- Cheddar cheese
- Monterey cheese
- Dry Ranch dressing packet
- Franks buffalo sauce

This dip is perfect for any event, even a late night snack in your pajamas while binge watching that show that’s got you reeled in. You know the moment when you just need a little something to get you through the last few episodes of the season so you can sleep well knowing you’ve at least finished one thing in your life. This cheesy ranch buffalo chicken dip also helps fill the void left in your soul once that series is done. You know the one.
Alright, alright here is what you’ve got to do to please the crowd, even if it’s just you and your dog and that television.
- 12 oz. can chicken
- 8 oz. package cream cheese
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- one cup monterey cheese
- 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
- one cup franks buffalo sauce
First, set half of the shredded cheese aside. Mix all the ingredients together and add to baking dish. Then, sprinkle the other half of the shredded cheese on top and cover with tinfoil. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly, about 20 minutes.
Once cooked, get dippin’! You can use chips, bread, crackers, fingers…a spoon. Whatever feels right at the time. Dip it, dip it real good.
