This Classic Frozen Strawberry Margarita is just that- a classic. As with most other classics, it never goes out of style! It really is the perfect summer cocktail.
As much as I love trying new cocktail recipes, it’s never a bad idea to go back to basics. This classic frozen strawberry margarita was one of the first cocktails I ever mastered.
The recipe calls for only a few simple ingredients. It’s easy to make, delicious, and I’ve never met a single soul who didn’t love it.

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own Classic Frozen Strawberry Margarita:
- Tequila
- Strawberries
- Limes
- Simple syrup
- ice
- salt
No cocktail shaker needed for this recipe. Just mix your ingredients together in a blender. Speaking of blenders…my friends gave me a new Ninja Blender for my birthday and I just want to blend ALL THE THINGS!

While your blender is doing it’s thing, rim your favorite margarita glass with salt. To do this, pour a generous amount of salt out onto a plate. Next, take a lime wedge and rub it around the entire rim of your glass and then dip the rim into the salt. Move it around to make sure the entire rim is covered with salt.
I used chunky sea salt for mine, but they make margarita salt specifically for margaritas that is just perfect! If you’re not a fan of the salt, leave it out all together or rim your glass with sugar instead.
Once your glass is rimmed with salt or sugar, pour in your blended margarita and garnish with a slice of strawberry and a lime wedge.
If you like your margaritas on the rocks instead of blended, simply add some ice to your glass and leave it out of the blender. Blend the rest of the ingredients in your blender and pour it over ice when finished.
Oh, and in case you needed a little more convincing… Tequila is pretty much just agave nectar, right? Add in some fresh strawberries and guys, I’m no health nut, but I’m pretty sure this is basically a fruit smoothie. Delicious and Healthy AF… ish
